FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does InvoiceGuard access all my Gmail emails? +

No. InvoiceGuard only reads the email that's currently open in Gmail when you click the Track Invoice button. It does not scan your inbox automatically or access any other emails.

Can InvoiceGuard track invoices from any client? +

Yes. InvoiceGuard works with any invoice email in Gmail — no matter who sent it or what format it's in. The AI reads the email and auto-fills client name, amount, and due date. You can edit any field before saving.

How does InvoiceGuard detect overdue invoices? +

InvoiceGuard compares the due date you set (or the AI extracted from the email) against today's date. Overdue invoices are flagged red in the dashboard and the extension badge shows an overdue count so nothing slips through.

Is InvoiceGuard free? +

Yes — the free plan lets you track up to 5 active invoices with AI extraction, overdue alerts, and basic follow-up templates. No account needed. Pro ($7/month) unlocks unlimited invoice tracking, AI-personalized reminders, CSV export, and full analytics.

Does InvoiceGuard work with multiple currencies? +

Yes. InvoiceGuard extracts and stores the amount in whatever currency appears in the invoice email — USD, EUR, GBP, or any other. The dashboard shows amounts as extracted.

Is my invoice data private? +

Yes. InvoiceGuard uses an anonymous random ID — no name or email collected. Invoice metadata (client name, amount, dates, status) is stored on a private Cloudflare D1 database linked only to your anonymous ID. Raw email content is processed and discarded — never stored. We never sell or share your data.

What we collect

InvoiceGuard assigns each installation a randomly generated anonymous ID stored locally on your device. We do not collect your name or email address unless you upgrade to Pro (Stripe collects payment details directly).

Invoice email text you submit for extraction is sent to our API to parse invoice fields. We store structured invoice metadata (client name, amount, dates, status) linked to your anonymous ID. Email body text is processed and discarded — we do not store raw email content. We never sell or share your data.
